Hand painted women in seated fashion.
The fashion poses that I plan to paint in this category feature women seated in chairs, and on the floor.
There are a variety of seated fashion poses.
Some are more difficult to draw than others, as I do not paint these types of poses often.
Nevertheless, I hope to stretch my artistic abilities as I create these images.
One of the reasons that I was drawn to this image is that I really like the shoes.
They are high heeled Mary Jane style shoes, and I really wanted to draw them, and paint them different bright colors in each painted look.
Another reason I was drawn to this image is that I like the cropped top.
Cropped tops are one of my favorites.
The outfit gives a retro look, and I was excited to see the end result.
The kneeling pose was also intriguing because I had to be sure the body had just the right bend in the drawing.
I was able to practice drawing lines and angles.
Although I erased many times during the process, it caused me to study the photo more intently.
I took progress photos of some of my sketches, along with the painted images.
I always enjoy styling the hair.
I like to choose different colors.
Sometimes, I use acrylic paint, other times, I use colored pencil, and on rare occasions, I use ink.
Sometimes, the hair is straight, and sometimes curly (depending on the ethnicity).
My go-to styles are braids, buns, ponytails, half up-half down, locs, afros, afro puffs, and, of course, straight hair.
There are a variety of ways to style the hair within these groupings.
Let me say again that I do not draw/paint photos exactly as they appear.
I do not even have the ability to do this.
Instead, I use the photo as a model for the pose, and the style of clothing.
(At times, I even make adjustments to the clothing. The color choices are definitely mine.)
With that said, I look at photos in magazines, catalogs, on social media, and online.
I am able to draw much better when I am viewing the pose of an actual person.
