Painting fashionable women in groups.

These sketches were a great challenge because each one involved three women with slightly

different features, and outfits.

How long did I work on each sketch?

I don't know the exact time, but I would estimate 3-5 hours.

Though challenging, it was rewarding in the end.

I was pleasantly surprised with each outcome.

My goal is to complete one more fashion group, and then I will return to sketching and painting one woman at a time for a while.

I imagine that drawing one woman will feel easy after completing the group sketches.

I started by sketching the woman in the middle.

I then sought to sketch the women on both sides around her, and match the dimensions.

I did not draw the sketches exactly as reflected in the photos.

I took a few liberties with some of the clothing, and hairstyles, which was a lot of fun.

When painting, I used watercolor on most parts of the images.

The hair was painted with acrylic, or colored with colored pencil.

I purposely used an array of colors in painting the clothing, jewelry, and make-up.

I wanted the paintings to be eye catching.

I started the group fashion sketches with three women who look like they are posing for the camera.

I did not take a video of the painting process for this one.

Next, I sketched, and painted three women with kinky curly hair, wearing crop tops.

I really enjoy creating textured hair.

I would venture to say that this was my favorite part of creating this painting.

The three women are wearing colorful skirts and crop tops.

The third image shows what appears to be three friends hanging out.

Two of the women are seated, and one woman is leaning against a chair.

I painted, or colored most of the hair on all three images before I filmed the painting process.

I did this because the angle from which I was filming was awkward to paint from.
