Painting a woman in a casual dress.
I was drawn to this image because of yhr uncommon pose.
Also, I liked the dress, and that the sleeves were long enough to cover the hands.
I started with light pencil sketches to create her relaxed posture, and capture the way the fabric drapes on her arm.
Next, I focused on the shape of the dress itself.
This is a mini dress that has simple lines.
I used different watercolor pastels or warm earth tones for each dress.
I am still perfecting the facial features each time I draw a face.
It is difficult for me to accurately capture facial features, unless the photo I am drawing from is large.
I like to create a different hairstyle for each painted image.
These details make the image come to life, and helps the viewer connect with it.
When I'm done painting, I step back and look at the overall balance of the painting.
I adjust colors that may not look well together, or change other details.
I am fond of painting with watercolor because of the way the colors flow and blend on the paper.
I never know exactly how the paint will settle, and I always look forward to seeing the color when it dries.
Watercolor is light and easy to use —perfect for just jumping in and getting creative.
I enjoy that I also get to play with layers and transparency.
I can start with soft washes of color and slowly build up details, watching my image come to life in stages.
Whether I'm painting something realistic or just experimenting with shapes and textures, watercolor invites me to relax, and enjoy the moment.
I would wear this long sleeve mini dress and tie-up ankle boots for brunch dates or casual outings with friends.
This ensemble is a nice balance between dressy and relaxed, so it works well for meeting at a cute café, walking around a local art fair, or enjoying a sunny afternoon in the city.
The ankle boots add a bit of edge, while the long sleeves are appropriate during cooler days.
This outfit also works great for evenings out, like going to a casual dinner or seeing live music.
The mini dress gives a bit of flair, while the long sleeves keep it from feeling too revealing.
Tie-up boots add a fashionable touch that makes the whole outfit stand out.
It’s an outfit that adapts to different environments while being comfortable and chic.
