I was drawn to create this image because high neck blouses are my favorite.

I also like the ruffles around the wrists.

These types of blouses bring a sense of elegance and sophistication to any outfit.

Whatever fabric the blouse is, it always looks graceful and put-together.

I appreciate how the blouses frame the face beautifully and often highlight the shoulders and collarbone in a subtle, refined way.

They're perfect for both casual days and more formal occasions.

Another reason I love high neck blouses is their versatility.

They pair well with everything from jeans to pencil skirts, and they layer nicely under blazers or cardigans.

I enjoy the variety of styles available—some have ruffles or buttons, while others are sleek and minimal.

No matter the design, a high neck blouse always makes me feel feminine and girly.

The overall outfit looks comfortable and stylish.

Painted Woman in Casual Fashion - The Creative Process

I really enjoy drawing fabric that is ruffled, bunched, folded, and/or creased.

This blouse is frilly, and dainty.

It has ruffles, folds, and bunched fabric.

The pants also have a few creases.

Though sketching is the most difficult part of creating an image, I relish in capturing each detail of the fabric.

I use watercolor on the clothing because the paint is transparent, and allows the lines in the ruffles, and folds to still be seen.

The acrylic paint is opaque, and would cover these lines.

I prefer acrylic paint to be used for the hair, and shoes.

As I was painting the clothing, I alternated between colors so that no two outfits were identical.

I appreciate the different color combinations.

The woman in the image is wearing jeans, which would typically be painted blue.

Instead, I painted the jeans a variety of colors.

I also painted many different hairstyles, and hair colors on the women.

I imagined ways that I would style my hair if I were wearing this outfit.

I would probably wear this outfit to a lunch, or dinner with friends.

I may also wear this to a musical performance, or a play.

I would definitely wear the blouse with a skirt to work.

There is so much versatility in this outfit.

Mixing and matching would certainly work.

This casual outfit could be made a little fancier.
